Atlantica Online: Which Independent Mercs to choose ::: Edition 4
Here is the 4th Edition of the independent mercenary list I have managed to gather. Use it to decide which mercs to develop and make independent for maximum profit or specific item collection.
(Independent mercs are those you choose to release (and lose) after they reach level 100 or above. They then send you gifts every 6 days but they request presents every day to keep friendship at 100. The responsible NPC is Fugger, near Columbus)
As always mail me in game or post here below if you want to contribute to this or any other analyses for the good of all (e.g. mining, 18, multi hued crys., spear)
Update: there is in depth information on items but by profession on Atlantica Wiki. Go check it out here: atlantica.wikia.com/wiki/Independent_mercenary

Atlantica Online: How to make money - 100k-300k every 10 minutes
In this post of Atlantica Online I want to teach people how easy it is to make money. Here I will show you one of the many ways.
This way is for:
G1cannon
This way is for:
- "lazy people" chilling in town doing nothing
- people who are busy at home and left the char online autocrafting
- lower level people for whom this is a lot of money
- Look at the image guide below and see the rumor window - this will guide you in the game which town to go to.
- Pretty much any merchant in town is selling something for peanuts + 100% will. Sometimes they are not selling anything, which is fine.
- The idea is super simple - buy from merchant and sell to market at a huge profit. Below you see in the image guide I made for you examples of how easy it is to make hundreds of thousands with no effort at all.

Atlantica Online: 15% seth will 100% of the time ::: Why All Should Have Hwarang
In this post I want to tell you why everyone should have a Hwarang merc.
Oracle's Seth Will gives, at level 60, factor 54 to multi-hit in PVE and factor 32 to multi-hit in PVP. (Shaman's Brutal Will gives 48 in PVE and 27 in PVP)
These skills maybe you have a chance to use, maybe you don't. If you do, you can only use them on count 3 so anyways, all combat before count 3 happens as regular.
HOWEVER, if you have Hwarang merc with level 60 Aura then all your ranged mercs (I'm especially looking at the awesome damage dealing Jani) receive 463-779 to their attack as well as factor 7 for PVE or factor 4 for PVP to the multiple hits.
This means that just by being present Hwarang is supplying all ranged merc with almost 15% seth 100% of the time (as the skill is a passive skill).
Therefore the ranged mercs will shoot more times and harder and this makes your party exponentially stronger than it is.
The above is especially true for PVE and less so for PVP because players can target/kill Hwarang and utilize a huge number of other strategies. But in PVE it is a huge bonus to use Hwarang.
EDIT: It is also important to note that with seth/brutal will you lose control of your mercs, but with hwarang aura you have full control of them.
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
As a secondary point, the higher one gets in level the more seems important to take out a specific mob in a group (drunken armadillos, bandits and ladies, poison snakes, sly goblins, etc) therefore a structure with hwarang for PVE and different from PVP will be more efficient.
Example:
WALL - WALL - WALL <--- healed by prophet (e.g. VIK*/SPARTAN/PIRATE)
HWARANG - PROPHET - JANI <--- strong damage MAIN - HEALER - AWAKENER <---- Range main would work best** *Vik meant for "crowd control" whereas spartan/pirate add to spike/point damage
**Healer and awakener can be completely replaced but more damage or other as situation needs, i.e. if you don't need a monk/punisher you can add an archer for extra spike or a healer for heal while other healer seths.

Atlantica Online: Item Analysis results and formula ::: FINAL Edition
ok and also to add
in case anyone needs the formula for the return you get on item analysis is:
Analysis Exp = (workload / 50) * (1.6^Enchant Level) * Multiplier
this means that the higher the item class AND the higher the enchantment + then the more experience you will receive.
But note that sometimes its much cheaper to get a high + lower class item. For example its far more cost effective to analyse divine instead of nix.
Enjoy.

Atlantica Online: Items received from independent mercs ::: Edition 2
Here is the list I have managed to gather mostly from my own independent mercs, but few entries I found here and there on the Internet.

Atlantica Online: Jackpot Challenge 19k Giant Crystals
Hi, I want to share with you an example of using Jackpot licence in Atlantica Online to Jackpot Challenge (JP) Giant Crystals for upgrades of mercenaries such as spartan who use up a lot of them.
The below was achieved after a 4 hour non stop grinding in Goonzu World using 2 bewitch mobs 95% of the time in the 2nd level of Goonzu (in the left downstairs area).
I also have data, thanks to "BloodyProsty" that a very similar JP resulted in more than 35k crystals, so we understand that this was lucky to get a very high multiplier and the current one is either "normal" or low multiplier. (There is a hidden multiplier in JP)
The profit using today's market prices I calculated is 617,130,000 gold. So its very interesting. However its not realistic to sell anywhere near this amount on the market at stable price so taking half would be more realistic - so 300 million profit.
(please mail me in the game with your JP success so I can improve my JP database. Approximate is ok. Expensive items is ok, all items not needed.)

Atlantica Online: Looking at VITALITY and MDEF trade-off
Part 1: very simply looking at how much health you gain in in FL battle taking Northern Viking as an example. Remember the higher the vitality the bigger the health grows - it is exponential, not linear. So below you see +631 vitality gets you 4550 health.
Part 2: is more complicated, but not too much. Here we look at the trade-off between health and mdef. Here there are few learnings:
a) From the "intelligence" naked viking to the fully geared viking you can see the vast increase in MDEF which is coming purely from intelligence points from all the items.
b) Adding intelligence to viking in pic #3 gives him an additional 20 MDEF. From 426 this is an increase of 4.7% MDEF, however at the same time he sacrifices health -3.8%. Therefore we can see that we have a choice to be made. One could put tons of intelligence on viking thereby increasing the MDEF which would work really good vs. magic attack enemies OR one could fill him up with health but then the viking will take more damage from magic attacks and also he will take more damage from the fatigue which is based on the max health to the best of our understanding.
- Should we take 200 MDEF or 1k+ health?
- There is no right and wrong answer here. Personally I believe more towards health as one can never predict what enemy one will have.
Feel free to leave your comments below:

Atlantica Online: Analysing Effect of Intelligence on Damage of Spells
We tested (and thanks to Tindari for helping to test) to see what is the effect of intelligence (like using rings) on the damage spells make.
Below you see the slight increase of tick damage from elem spells but same 1800 initial damage because its doing -vitality and not actual damage. But I would say the increase in tick damage for the effort put in intelligence is negligible.
And second you see from arrow cascade again what I think to be a negligible increase in damage from the considerable increase in intel.
It is important to know that whatever the additional damage comes from increments of 75 intel. So 822 intel we got 1024 tick damage but 827 intel it was 1033 damage. This is because 75 x 10 = 750 intel and another 75 intel >>> 750 + 75 = 825 intel.
Thus I recommend not to use any intel gear or rings for any kind of spellcasters. This recommendation is valid on the 20th of October 2009.
Update: we did some more tests to check the effect on healing. We observed healing 3133 vs. 3206 with and without 480 intel. So the difference was only 73 healing for a wooping 480 intel. Again, for me this is negligible amount for the investment.
Update 2 (26th of Jan 2010): I was informed about other players who did also tests and discovered that there is no difference to the magic attack of many skills with or without intelligence boosting equipment. In the following forum thread you can see 16/19 people agreeing that there is no impact whatsoever on damage from intelligence.
(Thanks to Promethus for sharing his feedback)

Atlantica Online: Example of an all ranged build
Not saying this is good or bad. Just interesting - food for thought.
(note this is a build from a high div 1-3 i can't remember probably made for auto battle FL)
Below you see an example I observed of an all ranged build (main could be ranged also), which of course gives the advantage of princess healing all and making everyone shoot harder and more accurate. If Hwarang was there then the bonus on ranged mercs attack would be even greater.
Of course on the down side the "wall" probably can not hold very well...
but this sure is an all out offense build and at the least very interesting to think about for people who enjoy strategy.
Please leave any feedback below.

Atlantica Online: Estimate of chances from Nimrod Boxes
Most popular item in the Nimrod boxes is the OSS (Old Spartan Shield). At this moment its price is about 500 million. This item is required part of the quest to obtain a spartan merc in Atlanitica Online.
Below is as estimate drop rate of items from nimrod box.
P.S. Nimrod boxes are gotten from Babel ND (Nation Dungeon). These 65 I gathered from 3 completions.
